Band
Bio
We are
Innominate, a band from Workington,
Cumbria, in the Northwest of England.
Band members are:
Lee
- Vocals Alan - Guitars/vocals Fran - Guitars Jonny - Bass/vocals Mullet - Drums
We formed in May 2003
and instantly clicked. We do a couple of covers but try to keep them to a minimum, as we feel covers indicate a lack of ingenuity,
self confidence and pride. When we are live, our set is 96% our own stuff. We write music because it’s fun and because
it’s our dream to get the band recognised all over and be able
to play music for a living. Our sound is different from many bands, especially around our local area, blending all our influences,
from thrash, punk, nu-metal, classic metal and emo to make a blend of different sounds known as Innominate.
A quick
story of the formation of Innominate
Lee and Alan are brothers and had been writing material together for around a
year prior to the bands formation. They both wanted to start a band and so began to ask around. Lee's mate Jonny (Mark Johnson)
said he'd do bass and so with vocals guitar and bass sorted, all that was needed was a drummer. Our drummer was found through
word of mouth, and begged by Alan to join. Curr (Mathew Curr, or Mullet), who was 12 at the time, ended up coming to
a jam, and so, in mid May of 2003 Innominate was born (originally called Lamecore for a month or two, in which time they released
a demo which is widely regarded as worse than Hitler ). The first jam was basically all of us jamming to a couple of songs
written by Alan and Lee (Jonny had lyrics from his previous band, which were slightly better than Hitler, but still shit)
we instantly clicked and each practice grew and grew.
After about 5 months we were jamming at a rundown place called
Clifton Hall, due to being thrown out of our previous practice place. At the same time, a band called the Muff Wigs were practicing
with us. Fran, a friend of the band, who plays trombone for the Muff Wigs came and watched us and then the next day asked
to join us as well, becoming our other guitarist.(it is worth noting however that Frans interview was by Lee and Jonny after
a night of white cider, and they both deeply regret their decision and if they could turn back time they would say no and
spit in Frans face. The wanker) A few weeks later we had our 1st gig at Monroes Bar (7th November 2003) and carried on with gigs ever since then.
We also recorded our second demo,
in November 2003, which is called 'Me Inside'. It’s available from any band member except Fran, and costs £3. We
have a DVD on sale too, which costs £5.
Our 1st
studio album is also available, “MAKE ME SCARS”, for £4.
